D Day special issue combat Rations?

Post by Norton » Fri Jun 06, 2014 7:58 pm

Since it is D Day Plus 70
Good time time ask, I understood there was a special ration issued to front line Non-Airborne Infantry combat troops before D Day.
If I remember correctly it was an additional combat ration issued for times when troops could not eat in a normal fashion
I think it had Raisins, Peanuts and Hard D bar type Chocolate.

Am I correct in this or do I have my US WW 2 rations mixed up?
