Biolite Campstove

Hi I just have found an article in the german Mercedes-Benz customer magazine about this campstove:

Does anyone has heard about it? For me it`s very interesting and I have ordered one.
So if I got it, I`ll make a review on it - and if anyone from germany is interested in - you can come and we test it together - before you spend so much money - 129$ plus 50$ S&H

That looks to be a more advanced, modern design of a Sierra Stove that came out in the 1980's and a Hatsuden Nabe stove that has been out for awhile and uses energy to charge cell phones. It's a pretty ingenous idea, I wonder what the overall weight is?

Yeah, that looks like an combination of both!
The weight is 935 grams.

They have been working on this for a while i'm glad to see it isn't vaporware.

Its a sort of wood gas stove with a peltier element.

Tricky part is keeping it from cooking the electronics in the heat of a fluctuating fire and giving a steady voltage at the same time.

So folks, long time since my last posts / reviews. A lot of work in the past...

Now it`s getting calmer. So here we go...

I`m very impressed and satisfied with the stove, as I didn`t thought, it`ll work so well as it does!
Very good product, easy to use, good for most activities and uses nearly everything what burns, and uses only small amount of fuel!

By the way, as I couldn`t use it "on-the-road" while on tour with the showtruck, I ordered a gas powered stove now (for usage of "in-truck-heating up" of small amount of water - 0,5liter about 2 minutes) - I thought about to buy a Jetboil Flash or the Primus EtaSolo - I decided to go with the Primus, because it comes with more accessories incl. (hangerkit, Pot support) and some features like !EASY! removeable wrap-around heat resistant cover (so you can use it as a hotpot holder in the meanwhile). The advantage of the included accessories is about 58 Euros!!! So in total the price advantage was 66 Euros - the Primus stove was 92 Euros and the Jetboil 100 € - thats a lot and so I truted the swedish product instead of the US!
Also it is much cheaper in compare to the Jetboil and more lightweight! But the weight wasn`t a k.o. criterium!
Hope it was a good choice - anyone here who has experiences?

If you can, try making a Youtube video and posting the link here on the forum. That way we can see it in action while your making something. It will give us a better picture to go by rather than some "still shot photos". Otherwise it looks like it is quite bulky.
