Military camp weekend & convoy

I spent last weekend at a military camp. We had wunderfull sunny weather but just 7°C (44F) at night. Thx to God for my Bundeswehr sleeping bag :mrgreen:

I really like those pictures of the US Army M-151 jeeps. Jeeps like those are perfect for off-roading on the weekends. :wink:

Awesome pics housil! Just curious; in the east meets west photo, is that the North German Plain in the background? Many cold war scenarios called for the Russians to invade and seize the Hoff Corridor and the North German Plain would be swarming with their armor.

The camp was ~ 1hr south/west of the City of "Hof" where the "Hof(f) Corridor" was. Our member Mreheater72 lieves next to it.

The most "famous" invading Corridor was the "Fulda Gap" and its US obersavation Place "Point Alpha", just an hors drive far from us.

The "Fulda Gap" and the Hoff Corridor where they expexcted the Soviets to roll in with their armor.... :roll: :lol: :lol: :lol:

One of my old Army units the 14th Cavalry took part in guarding the Fulda Gap during the Cold War from the late 1940's until the late 1970's. I remember this history from my unit although I did not serve until MUCH later.
