I didnt know quite where to put this, but I dont think this subject has ever been covered.
What are the worst rations currently issued to national armies? Does anyone have any experiences or views as to this?
Maybe from responses recieved, we can create a "bottom ten" of the worst rations currently inflicted on certain unfortunate militaries
Any thoughts?

Hi,
I think that batch of Russian rations containing dog food is fully entitled to compete?

The dog food wasn't in the ration, but in the meals of an remote base.. (to save on the costs)
I find it very difficult to point out bad rations..
I know rations, like the dutch and french ones.. that are bad in usuability (or how ever you call it) but taste well.
I know selfheating rations that are darn handy to have, but taste like............
I don't think we can make a list of the worst 10, unless we give a grade to every "group"
userfriendlyness
shelflife
taste
healthyness
weight
calories (per day)

Good idea Ted. I propose
A excellent B adequate C poor for each of those categories you propose. I would substitude ease of preperation for user friendliness. Its a bit more "concrete"

Believe it or not I think I have the absolute winner in the worlds worst ration contest. I will let you guys determine the 1 to 10 or A to C 'best/ worst' ratings. Shouldn't be too difficult with this baby!
Ready?
North Korea
Need a sample to determine your 'rating'? No sweat...
To 'whom' do I send the package of composted lawn trimmings?

Why would those be the worst? We don't even know what's in them. We had a nice discussion on them, about a year back I think.
I still think they don't have such bad rations. They probably have chinese made rations or items. And yes, they are probably crappy.. but we cant judge
