I got this russian /soviet AKM/AK-74 bayonet for my birthday....
The bayonet is definetly a russian /soviet made by Izveshk .Its marking on the handle ( Arrow inside Triangle) plus the serrated blade on the top.
But I cannot figure the hanger, scabbard and frog..... :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

The scabbard can be mated to the knife by slipping the oval hole in the blade over the matching stud on the tip of the scabbard to form a sissor style wire cutter. The wire you intend to cut slips into the notch. The grip & scabbard are insulated to allow cutting of electircally charged wires..hence the rubber hand grip near the scabbard throat. Don't think i'd bet my life on it but thats what they say.....still a good, sturdy util. blade.

I know about the wire cutter and how to use it. Thanks for the explanation though... :D
Is that the cutter /scabbard-frog part doesn't match the blade. Usually it should had been a bakelite scabbard for an Izveshk AKM russian made bayonet. The blade is soviet /russian but the scabbard is an older model or from some of the european soviet satelites....
So I want if somebody here can identify the origin of the scabard.

No problem armorrich.... :D :D
Well it looks like a hybrid, at least in the scabbard/frog/cutter.... That's one thing with the old soviet/Warsaw pact weapons they were interchangeable.
But the blade is definitely soviet, an Izveshk. The person I got it brought it from Afghanistan, the "Disneyland" of world weapons....lol
