Just Curious

I'm looking for anyone's thoughts on this; I know a couple of nutritionists at Natick Labs who've told me that the best MREs for proper digestion and nutrition are actually the ones which are very spicy and "hot." Now having had issues with acid reflux and assorted other digestive issues, I'm wondering just how true this is. I'm sure we've all heard the claims that hot and spicy foods can create an internal environment where ulcers cannot form, but for some folks, (ahem---
) it is very hard to eat this kind of MREs to begin with. Alot of the foreign rations appear to be based on cultural and tradition of that particular country, and it would be interesting to see how the digestive and colon health of troops who eat rations that are very spicy and hot would compare to those who do not eat such things. Just my thoughts.
