- Loads of wheatsnackbreads with stuff to put on them
- DEET 50% insect repellant
- ORS Powder (just in case....)
- Diarrhea stoppers (just in case..)
- 4 washgloves (to use without water)
- handwashgel (to use without water, desinfecting.. alcohol like jelly that dries fast)

- extra shoe laces
- müsli bars (8)
- mini flashlight
- waterpurrifying tablets (EPa part, chlore based)

Sure, someone may one day kill me with my own gun.
But they'll have to beat me to death with it because it's empty.
A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.

Re: Travel tips
I use one canteen, with bottled water in the backpack (canteen is only the drinking supply)
I'm taking Dutch marine "Noorse trui" (norwegian sweather, thinner insulation sweather)
Foodpowder and sport tape againt blistering, (and dry socks..)
chemlights are on the way to romania but not for using (I only use it when walking next to roads myself)
I have some aluminium hooks for gear / easy grab..
I have loads of MRE nuts&raisins mix (thanks treesuit!) because I found out that those are ideal.
I have loads of dextrose (those civil ones that you got from your dutch friend, dextro energy, and dutch military ones) for AK70..
I'll take some aswell..
Thanks for the tips

Re: Travel tips
your welcome
hope you and ak70 will have a cool training trip
btw drink a lot of water when its hot and eat salt at nigths
when you have sweat a lot in day time to reconstitute salt/mineral levels
in body.
i used salt tabletts in lebanon but in norway i use more salt in the
dinner or i use a bag of potato crisp in the evening.
and remember to take a shit before you go to sleep
remember you just heat the crap not your body if not
and it harms the body balance if keeping the crap in to long....
is the Noorse trui" the one in cotton with the zipper ?
we have one now in the army supply made by ligth wool no itchy
very warm and faster drying than the cotton one.
cheers ken

Re: Travel tips
I can't shit on command
I'm familiar with countering dehydration etc (from hiking experiences) and I have special tablets for it aswell
(multivitamine and minerals, mixing up to be a nice orange drink.. To bad it tastes like crap instead of orange..)
The noorse trui is a mix with cotton and polyamide

Sounds like a great little expedition

Be sure to take lots of pics!
Do you carry a small survival kit btw C, and what does it contain? (firemaking, lures, snares, etc?)
Re: Travel tips
Get a small pocket knife or multi tool. A ferrociun rod ,magnesium rod or Sparkie if you have it. Some paracord and a compass.....
Also a small knife ( like the Mora)

Re: Travel tips
I haven't got a small survival kit, but a large one.
Because we have to "survive" 10 days without food & water..
I have a Bundeswehr serrated pocket knive with saw, and have waterproof German military matches (1960's Bundesmarine / navy storm matches).. They still work great.
I can't take to much, because we have to carry everything (sleepinggear, tent, food, water supply, hygiene)
