Just asking, between an Mossberg 500 Cruiser, an JIC 2 and an Maverick 88 which one you'll choose? I'm looking for an multipurpose shotgun, finally I'm allowed to buy by Romanian law.

I'd prefer none of those, the mossberg is nice, but I'd rather go for an mossberg 590 instead of an 500, or a remington 887 (doesn't look that great though, but handles great)

Here in the United States, our Army uses the Mossberg 590A1 12 gauge shotgun which is basically an upgraded Mossberg 500 normally issued with a heatshield, higher capacity magazine, and a bayonet lug. It is considerably more expensive than the Mossberg 500 in civilian market. The Mossberg 590A1 is also carried by security teams assigned to AT&T bunkers and neither version is issued or even available with choke tube to my knowledge so may not be suitable for hunting.

If you can afford it, the Mossberg 590A1 with ghost ring sight and the extra magazine capacity may be a good option. I have no issue with the Saiga 12 gauge semi-auto, I mean the Russian Spetsnaz use it and it is rumored to be soldier-proof, but I've heard that the springs on the magazines of the Saigas are prone to failure.

Isnt that the image of the Galil Micro? Especially the grip on the top one, so similar.

No hope here in the UK seeing that kind of shotgun. Or any gun soon.

I like the original Galil family they got AK47s and Valmets in their genes :)

+1 on the 590, but I'd go with the Mossberg 500 or 590 Mariner. It's built like a tank, has a good pump-action, the 590 has an extended mag, and comes with an optional pistol grip that can replace the standard stock. I've had my 590 since 1995 and have never had any problems with it. The bead sight sucks, but it's a super-simple design and it's still great for home defense.

Personally I will go with the Maverick 88 as it's only 200 bucks and it does the job. Plus since you live close to Russia, I am guessing Saiga should be cheap around where you live.

Have you thought about buying a Baikal? cause in Canada we got some really nice semi auto for 300 bucks and they work.

All 12 gauge mags are prone to failure, due to the large, heavy rounds they simply wear out much faster..
But I wouldn't go with an semi auto, for hunting I'd prefer a classic shotgun action.. Home defense.. Ehh.. I'd still go with an normal one, because with some practice your fast enough anyways..

And the good semi auto's are more expensive then the normal ones, require more work / cleaning and wear out a little bit faster..
Plus, your always going to shoot more with an semi auto...... (atleast in my experience) just because it's easier ..
