Is this an ROTC or old uniform patch?

I'm thinking about buying it but I'm not sure if it's current issue or something left over from the post Korean war era. I'm really looking for a current issue JSA/Pan Mon Jum patch or a current issue armband.

Not R.O.T.C and patch does not appear old. Stitches and patch all look new. I'm guessing the green color is for a uniform of modern era.

Yep, I agree it's not ROTC at all, but from the looks of it with the green stiching and black border it might have been from around the 1980"s or so for the woodland uniforms.

It looks like a R.O.K (REPUBLIC OF KOREA) military patch or a US military patch of someone stationed in Panmunjon,Korea,
That where the DMZ is.

I ended up buying two of them. The patch in the picture I posted is surplus from the post Korean war era, and the other is modern, both worn by the U.S. army personal stationed at the JSA.

Current Issue

Post-Korean War Issue

Something to note here, the Korean war issue patch is much thicker and feels like it would last longer than the current issue which isn't much thicker than 3 or 4 sheets of A4.

Both will last quite long.. the thicker one is stronger, indeed.. but they tend to get cought behind branches and such, and wear alot more when your slide over something like a wall.

The thinner one is of the modern woven type, and is not very easy to damage (sticks out less.. and consists of small stitches instead of the large embroired stitches)..

I like the top one better myself..
