A friend sent me this link: http://www.kookychow.com

Someone has compiled a huge library of some of the weirdest food items -- some you know (Treet and Vienna Sausages), some are just puzzling:

How about Tuna Jerky? Or "Monkeygland Sauce"? Or "Crab Fat"?

"Hey kids! Who wants Pork Brains in Milk Sauce?"
"I DO! I DO! YAY!"
"And if you finish that, you can have a 'Cricket Lick-It' sucker." [yes, it has a real cricket in the center.]

So, when you begin to tire of MREs, just think: somewhere, someone is eating King Oscar's Fish Balls

[Shudder...] Don't give them any ideas for new menus for the MREs. :-)

I must say tuna jerky is not weird. I'm a big fan of salmon and trout jerky. :D

Kman, I'm glad that the Pork Brains come in Milk Gravy. I hate it when I have dry brains. If they're dry, then they'll fall apart when put on the baking rack and get damaged.

I think sitting down to a dinner of Crisco and butter sticks would provide less cholesterol than that meal, check out that label!

Yes, I'm sure it took the maker many months of testing to make sure they had just the right kind of gravy to make those pork brains taste the best. :-)

But deanopilot - you aren't following the directions when you try to bake them. You're supposed to add three eggs and then *fry* it all up in a pan. I think the cow brains do a better job for baking.

kman, I always try to "rack my brains", but prefer not to experience "brain damage"

thanks for the set-up
