A few months ago, the missus and I had our first experience with, and have now gotten hooked on Indian cuisine. While cruising the ethnic aisle I spotted these beauties. We haven't tried them yet, so a review will be made available once ready to open. I share this here as I am noticing an increase in retort products on the shelf. Noticed the package is very similar to an IMP pouch. Just missing the Freddychef logo

Thanks. I thought that thread was about the MRE's for the Gitmo prisoners.

Be nice if they got a lamb Vindaloo entree

Got 'em at Yokes, here in town. They're about 3.99 each

Wow, no kidding!

If you want some, but cannot get in your area, I can pick a couple up for you.

As for chains that carry Indian "ready-meal" retort items, try places like Whole Foods, Trader Joes, and Cost Plus World Market. They're generally around $2-3 per package. Some Safeway stores (at least down here) also carry them. Generally, I have found that you can get a larger selection at much lower prices by searching out stores that cater to the demographic of the Indian immigrant community. In the Indian groceries, I've found ready-meal items priced from $1-2, often with an entire row dedicated to these items. Also, for those so inclined, you can often find Indian ready-meal items on Amazon in packages of 6.

A couple of years ago I found 6 packs of the Kohinoor brand pictured in this thread at a Grocery Outlet store that was selling 6 item variety pack (probably packaged for a Sam's or BJ's) for $5. Costco also carried Tasty Bite around the same period, though no longer.

Seems that the ready-meal market in India is a booming business with the increased workforce that is finding less time to cook these time-consuming dishes.
