I really don't want to say this, but I will anyway. It seems the Europeans do not really understand what Obama stands for, or at least they think they know what he stands for, and believe what comes out of his mouth.

If there is going to be another war, its going to be under President Obama, just as Biden himself said, the new administration will be tested in the first six months. Me being only 15, and hearing that Obama sees the fact that "rich white kids" don't have to go off and fight in the war compared to Latino and African American kids, he sees fit that a draft would be a good way to "spread the wealth". What does this mean to me? For me, even a whiff of a draft spells my name being picked, and then I have to hall my ass to the nearest Military base, go through basic training as a grunt, and then fly me over to whatever country we are at war with.

The best I can hope for its a college student deferment. after 4-8 years I will still be young enough for the draft. Seeing that I will hopefully graduate from high school in 2011, I hope to get into college before I get picked. I understand you are afraid of being blown to bits just as well as I am, however I think the US is the biggest target as of now, so I probably have double to worry as I live in Los Angeles, which although doesn't have a very big Jewish population, is one of the largest cities in the US.

I'm directing this at the Europeans because I want you guys to get a feel for what a young person has to fear for in the United States.

I had a Canadian aquantience tell me that all of Canada was hoping Obama would win on election night, and that all the countries of the world should be able to vote in the US election. I simply answered with, "That sounds awesome, will their children be included in the draft as well?" He then quietly apologized and signed off.

My father had to leave USA as he still was a German, that why we are over "here", not over "there".

Let this kid to see the world with his own eyes. We are humans, some better, some worse, and we all mistake. Let history in its place, in books.

I know and I agree with you, but you can't mantain the scars of the past... We can argue long way, but I preffer to keep my eyes open for future. Maybe Angie Merkell will marry Obama, and there will be the most powerful nations on Earth. And free MREs for the poor!

I like the new Russian rocket shield! Now we have TWO instead of one, and for the price of one.
The US shield protects us from missiles coming from Russia, China, Iran and so on. The Russian shield is against missiles from the US, GB, France etc. That is, as long as the West shoots to the east and the East shoots to the west. I propose that West shoots to the west and East to the east. Then the missiles won't explode on European soil.

Housil is right. No matter who was responsible for WW2, the Germans (as many other countries in WW2) suffered unimagenable. At that time nobody had remorse with the German people (very understandable), however they suffered most of all. Everybody thought that they 'got what they deserved', but still millions of Germans lost their homes, land, earnings and worst of all, their relatives, friends, husbands, wives and so on. No matter who's to blame, a German mother had as much grief of her lost son as any other mother on earth.

I want to see a source. I'd rather enlist than be drafted, though.
