need help with DSA code

hi all
question: what is a DSA code and what is it for?
for example: TRIOXAME bars: DSA 600-70-C-0651
????

Hi,
DSA stands for Defense Supply Agency, it is the contract number that the US Government assign for producing an military product (until 1977). The 70 after 600- gives the year: 1970
Since 1978 they used DLA Defense Logistic Agency, later SPO or SPM.

Hey I did manage to see a DLA code as early as 1971. I'm not totally sure if that was the begining or not but I do know that after 1973 the DSA codes went away or faded out and the DLA began to appear.
