Breaking News

“As counties across California continue to loosen restrictions on stay-at-home orders, the number of coronavirus cases around the state continues to spike.”

In someways this is not surprising news with shops in California shutting down their businesses a second time since lockdown began; it’s important to maintain proper hygiene. I was told one parish in my diocese lost 60 parishioners due to Covid-19. Here are some products that may help keep hands and skin clean. This post was partly born out by a forum member of an older post who desired to see larger “moist towelettes” in the MRE’s.

These include a moist towelette, hand sanitizer, and counter disinfectant. The hand sanitizer is produced through the NYS prison system and distributed throughout the State. Found some outside a Post Burger King. The Purell Surface Sanitizer is designed to kill several microbial and virus and staph pathogens.

Then of course there's always this https://www.firstlinetech.com/product/rsdl but with a couple of drawbacks: it sucks for moisturizing skin, and it appears to be highly combustible. Not to mention it's use against biological is rather questionable. Of course it does have one specific use, assuming you survive long enough to use it.
Don't mind me it's just Monday morning.

A lot of these products are useful substitutes for tinder to ignite a camp fire in garrison or in a survival situation.

Another product be used on base I’ll share here.

As the Covid-19 surge begins let’s not forget good hygiene to include hand washing, dental, social distancing, and face masks.

Am bringing back this post to remind users of the products that are available for sanitizing.

I have one extra Purell surface sanitizer. Any serious users can PM if they would like to acquire this hard to get surfactant/disinfectant.

Are the cases surging or just the testing has increased? I know we're all 9 months into a "2 week flatten the curve so the hospitals don't become overwhelmed" thing, so forgive my skepticism. I know it's dangerous, it does kill people. But the whole thing has a really bad odor.

Around the world cases are increasing. I help out in a Community so we have to take precautions. So far so good for me. I never contracted it. Restrictions as far as number of people allowed in restaurants and churches are still minimal. Some of the problems come from communities who refuse to wear masks.

Dr. Fauci predicts the virus will last up to 2021. That’s why I posted the above information on protecting oneself.

Schools in my area may close tomorrow morning. Some colleges extended vacation time for their students.

Masks help according to the scientific data.

I'm pretty sure any virus will last more or less indefinitely. They don't go away. They are identified, catalogued, and tracked. The "Spanish Flu" that killed millions in 1918 is still around today. If you haven't got it yet, you probably will. Roughly half of Americans are going to contract it. Maybe more. You may have had it already, but the symptoms were so mild you weren't aware of it.

This is a new virus, thus another name for it is "novel" virus. That is the distinction here. There is no herd immunity as of yet. It is never going to go away or "be over" in 2021, nor is a vaccine a panacea. It isn't even particularly deadly compared to some - like H1N1. I'm not certain when everybody turned into such wilting flowers, but it is an extraordinarily disturbing trend. People are acting as if it is an automatic death sentence. Really bizarre.

Say what you will. Politicize it all you want. Or just live in denial. In the past six months, my partner & I have lost three people close to us, one relative and two friends. Prior to Covid, I lost one friend (two years ago) to H1N1. It's easy to say that people are making a big deal out of nothing, right up to the day you lose someone you love. I truly hope it doesn't happen to you.

The point being that people need to be realistic about this situation. Communities that don’t face reality are suffering. The Hasidic communities are consistently defying city mandates. And clashing with police.

One community nearby lost 60 people. Mine lost 2. Can’t say for certain everyone had COVID, but what I heard they were travelers. Because of severe restrictions that number of people above were denied a traditional Christian burial.

No one need to be afraid, but should be mindful to take precautions. You’ll should know by now what they are.

Oh, it's deadly no doubt.

The politicization is clearly on the part of those clamoring for permanent lockdowns and wearing masks inside our homes and the rest of it. The

The studies are showing dust masks provide some protection if infected individuals wear them, but that it is "statistically insignificant".

In any case government can't stop a flu virus. It is a debacle of epic proportion, there's no denying that.
