Not necessarily seeking to buy just now, but has anyone had experience with Danner or Belleville boots? Specifically, which are better for a freakishly wide foot?
Intended use is hiking/camping in mild temperate conditions, not military ops. The boot would have to accommodate orthotics.
Grateful for any opinions.

Baldy,
My personnal experience; I've had a pair of Danner's since 2000 and they've held up just fine through all sorts of crap. I purchased the Matterhorns, they have been through snow, dirt, fire, and all sorts of things that I have tromped in. I have the Gortex liners so they do get a bit warm, as for a odd size I would think that Danner could make a size for you. You do have to keep up on the maintenance on them. That's my take.
