Ok, I get fuckin' angry! Let's establish a hub, like a company who can deliver all over Europe with minimal custom, postal, courier or any else taxes. A company who will make a big import of rations and will can deliver parcels to any member in Europe with minimal aditional costs. Is any member involved in such a company or domain?
(Don't curse me too much, but I really want some MREs... and no one work with Eastern Europe!)

Sounds like you have a good idea for a company over there! Get it started! :-)

Kman, I think it's a good thing to have an European equivalent of US MREdepot.com! Not only for MREs/rations, but also for survival kits/supplies (MPI Outdoors and Survivor Ind cross my mind), outdoor oriented med kits (Adventure Medical Kits) and I wanna a good, nice Grundig FR-200 radio... Unfortunately, here in Europe all custom/S&H taxes will kill ya... I hope my idea will make an more fortunate member of MREinfo.com forum rich and famous! It's for free!

I hear ya. I want such a company as much as you do. Only problem is that Military MRE's are prohibited for resale and so if you start selling them in huge amounts, some government official might pick that up. Those MRE C-menus are a solution but you'll always have the shipping rates. The weight of MRE-cases won't drop, neither will oil-prices.
We have to do it with sellers from Germany who 'find' cases MRE's abandoned by the US army around Germany during field exercises. I think we are stuck to a lifetime of MRE's costing 60 euro's a case instead of 30 dollars a case.
The US will always be military/outdoor/survival-heaven compared to Europe.

I think German_EPA or another else must ask Ameriqual to become their dealer for aPacks and Menu C MREs in Europe... Is only a suggestion, here we lack of many things we need, so, who will take my ideas must do his own math and bring what is profitable for him. So, if someone want to risk his/her money and future for our good, I can help with some ideas.

I guess it just depends on how you look at it, I'd say having several countries around you to get rations from is much better than being able to get a few cases of only MREs. I have in the past purchased IMPs, EPAs, and an RCIR, but only the RCIR was from Europe and the shipping cost more than the ration. The IMPs weren't completely cheap to get shipped from Canadia to Texas but no where near as bad as it could have been. Of course those cases cost a lot more now if you can even find them, but I MIGHT have an inside source, we'll see how it pans out.

Mark, if someone can bring a ISO container (the big one) of any kind of MREs (especially fresh) at low cost, I guarantee he'll sell it like hot bread! Few cases for me, few cases for bl00k, few cases for Housil, Norge and Stef (I give just a few examples). Ok, take German_EPA offer: one case of FRESH MenuC MRE at 30 Euros, add 18 Euro S&H, makes 48 euros, I can afford one per week! Or I can take 4 cases, 120 euros + 18 euros transport, is below 150 euros, affordable for any European. So, here we need a company who can bring a LARGE quantity to keep additional prices (transport, custom, etc.) down.

i had planings about importing a (small) container of civilian MREs. but i mad a rough calculation now. about 50000 euro for about 700 cases + duty + taxes + ....
well - i cant lay out that amount of money. and then everyboby only buy 1 or 2 cases. i would be ruined
another proposal:
i will import that amount of boxes you all need but only against a fix order and CWO (cash with order).
shipping from here (germany) is then EXW (i love incoterms

)
your opinions please...

I would get in on the deal, but i already have a ton of MRE's here.
And now i'm running a little low on funds, so i can't afford to buy some of those Civillian MRE's although i would love to try them some time in the future.

German_EPA, here's a question for you: If you could import any of the different types of civilian MREs, what price would you have to buy the MREs at in order to make them worth selling?
For example, with what you said above (50,000 Euros for 700 cases of MREs), that would be around 71 Euro per case. And then you'd still need to mark that up to make a profit.
Have you figure out how much you would need to pay per case - 20 per case? 30? 40? - in order to be able to sell them for 50 Euros per case and yet still cover shipping, import duties, taxes, and profit? If you can come up with that number, you might have some place to start negotiations with the various civilian MRE vendors.
