Will it still work
Hey everyone I'm into scanner radios and listening to my local fire, ems, air ems,. agency's I used a scanner app on my phone but I have a old scanner radio from the 80s or 90s and I was wondering will it still work

Re: Will it still work
Entirely guessing, but I would imagine it depends on where you live and what the department uses locally. I know I can tune into the Fire Department locally here on a hand-held, but the RCMP encrypt their communication...or so I’ve been told.
All the best, Gents.

I can speak for Europa only, but we use digital radio for Police, Fire and EMS. So no more scanning possible over here.Militaryration_guy wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 11:43 amI have a old scanner radio from the 80s or 90s and I was wondering will it still work
Re: Will it still work

You can tune into some police and air traffic control signals over here, but digital is gonna pick it up. if you want to use traditional it might be a pain. UK is just weird like that. Only way to see if it works is to try it!

Nice review, and a nice receiver. Thought I caught a little RTTY in there. My suggestion to anyone who finds this interesting, go get your amateur radio license, so you can talk as well as receive. Communication is a 2-way process, after all....
