Just cam back from our vacation, we did one week mountain biking in the mountains (Thüringen Germany)
They have pretty nice and cool MTB tracks, but also nice East German Army (NVA) "left overs"
Bad news first, the bunker I´d like to visit (again), was closed due to Corona
but I was here before viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7965&
We were riding bikes for three days criss cross the woods and I brought some MREs with me
One day we had dinner at a pretty elevated location 842m (~2.400ft)
These cabins are everywhere so bikers, hikers etc can have a rest, sleep in there etc.
We ate 2018 #12, Menu 12 (Vegetarian) Elbow Macaroni in Tomato Sauce (vegetarian not on purpose, just grabbed two out of my spare case)
Chef Ollie
Having starters
side note, both MREs were #12, but one had cheese spread the other peanuts butter
I brought a Jetboil cooker with me, but liked to use the FRH
prompt it on a rock... and they worked great!
Because everything tastes good when you're hungry!
we really enjoyed our dinner!
also two different Wet Pack Fruits
Just two more random pictures

Wow, that looked like a great trip. I'm jealous, and now want to get my mountain bikes fixed up. I used to race a Trek 8000 Aluminum & 9800 Carbon for cross country and a Trek 9000 Aluminum for downhill... i bet they are considered antiques at this point.
I had a Trek Y11 but sold it years ago, I wish i didn't. It was a unique bike.
I was briefly sponsored by a bike shop, so got them for cheap, at the time.

My girlfriend also has a Trek bike but got her brand new Haibike the day before we left She is so happy with it, more comfy than her hardtail before.
Thats the tour we did last Friday
Our next goal is a bikepacking tour with tarp, sleeping bags, rations etc across two States. Just have to figure out a rack that fits on my bicycle. It´s a little tricky with a fully.

I've always been tempted to buy one of rear tire double side bag racks, but never did it... kids got in the way of most camping plans, so the backyard it is, for a few years

Just yesterday I found a rack that fits perfectly (just had to rearrange the break line)
