Going rate for G.I. sleep systems

hey guys,
I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if the $200 used, $300 new price range for The ACU camo modular sleep system that the army uses from Tennier is a reasonable price range or if it's panic prices. I'm going to be spending some time camping in the mountains this year and want to do away with the need for a tent and get a bivy system. I don't mind paying for quality gear, but honestly don't know what the economy was like aside from MRE prices before the current crisis.

You might want to visit ZombieHunters.org . This is a really great forum for your question. Search in the BugOut Gear thread. I bought that system years ago and use it quite often. Can't remember the price I paid.

Panic prices! You could get a new system for $90-$120 range on eBay before.

I have seen the Kelty Varicom sleep systems go for about $300 complete in the past, very very lightly used or even new. These are much nicer and issued to certain SOCOM units.

I wanted that but couldn't find it anywhere, got a brand new ACU army set and paid the current prices due to possible legitimate emergency coming up.

I used the MSS (modular sleeping system) in snow with no tent

and got snowed in

it worked great to me, BUT it´s pretty bulky and heavy to carry.

The prices for a new one are "OK", but saw them cheaper before.
