Does anyone know where to find public or private firing/target ranges near the Virginia/ North Carolina border? I need to zero my pre-64 Winchester model 70. I'm near the Richmond area. These 300 Winchester rifles are are so darned loud, and the blast is always knocking the scope off zero. Darn It! :?

You might be able to find something from the listing of ranges at
http://www.myvssa.org/varanges.htm

You're welcome to come down to the Uwharrie National Forest near me and use the public shooting range there. It'd be a bit of a drive for you but I could supply all the not-too-old MREs for lunch.

Either your optic is not properly secured to the weapon or your optics are crap....maybe both.

You got me on that one. Kman, I go to a range just across the border, down by Skippers. It's a private range, with up to 400 meter objectives. Very nice sideways pistol range, and newer shotgun/skeet range. Near the town of Roanoke Rapids, off US 301.
