Survival nuts

Post by ak70g2 » Thu Oct 04, 2007 4:43 pm

When I get registered, KMan told me he saw my nickname on other site. So, anybody is active on the other survival pages/forums? I ask this 'cause I'm reading some... A few:

www.equipped.com (Doug is a true classic alive!)

www.donrearic.com (Donnie is amazing)

http://www.m4040.com/Survival/Survival.htm (nice pics)

http://outdoors-magazine.com/s_summary.php (nice articles)

So, anyone sharing my other joys?

This is survival related, but I think a lot of it is speculation and lies, I think a lot of the boards are all speculation and exaggeration with the exception of a few people. That being said I haven't read your links except equipped.org, which I really enjoy, I just wish he'd evaluate more crap, and by crap I mean the stuff you get at target/walmart, not REI, see if any of it is worth a damn.

But it's still fun to read.. I mean who gets a $500 budget to just go create a survival pack, if you're like me you get what you can when you can and have cheap substitutes that are better than nothing until you get what you want.

Is this a MRE site, or a survival ration site? If you want to survive over in George Soros land, I don't care. Otherwise, I need to eat Chicken ala King, and 2 all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun. But MacDonald, where are the tomatoes. I don't know about anyone else, but, I will not eat a cheeseburger with no slice of tomato.

As much as like In and Out burgers, I've had to swear off them while driving - the things are just too darn messy to try to eat while keeping one hand on the wheel and at least one eye on the road.

Amen to that Kman! That's actually the one good point about Mickey D's ---- they make their burgers so darn dry that they are an ideal "travel burger" (especially for the driver).

There is a burger joint I would love to try though: White Castle. We can get their little "sliders" in the frozen food section (which are quite tastey by the way) of most super markets but unfortunately their establishments haven't come out this far west. Does anyone know just how far west they are located? May have to make a Road Trip from Arizona!

I don't know how far west they're located, but those little White Castle's are pure evil...evil little fat-bombs trying to get into my belly!

They're even worse when they're fresh...hot and juicy...and far, far worse after a night of drinking. Who can say "no" to a sack of 10? :-)

They only go as far west as Minnesota and Missouri.
Many a sack of those sliders went down my gullet when I worked in the Chicagoland area.
