Maybe we had the luck not to grew up under a communistic system like you that ruined the country. Our "big brother" came from the other direction and brought us more than they took away from us as the Russians did. They also turned east Germany into a poor (bankrupt) country with their politics.

Housil I think you simply only met the wrong eastern european people
I worked with Romanian and Polish people before.. (Yes, I am a Farmer) and I actually think they are nicer then most western people. Never shy to help, always a extra plate ready around dinner time (and a glass of liquor for "good luck" )


Those criminal ones are the gypsie like ones. Not flaming on gypsies right now, but you can clearly tell them from normal romanian people (they have a completely different appearance, darker skin etc)

And yes, they can be quite rude, straight to the point, sexist and over armed.. but hell, America has rednecks and hillbillies, the germans have Ludolfs, the dutch have their form of "trailertrash".. but hell.. not everybody is the same

Don't judge the people you haven't met before, and yes, I do not mean the criminals, but be open to other cultures..
(And I'm "rechts" if your wondering; but I know they aren't stealing jobs etc)

Most eastern european people come here, and do jobs that we don't want to do.. like heavy duty manual farming (aspergus/spärgel) sorting out trash, orderpicking etc etc..

I would seriously recommend hanging out with some eastern european people in an loose setting.. after work or something like that..

100% garantied that you leave filled with food, drunk, with a very large smile on your face, with a different opinion about eastern europeans

(by the way, I do admit there are loads of "bad" eastern people, but those are just the criminals that come here to make easy money.. some polish people attempted to steal my car, didn't work, but left me with serious to my car's electronics. "The West" is simply an easy target. Loads of people with "money", and very easy to steal.. like creditcard phising.. crime simply pays better in western europe then in eastern europe.. that's why the criminals also come to us)

Nope. They aren't frustated, just sick, as I am, to be considered "thieves, beggars and whores" as Stef said once. I like here and I'm not intend to emmigrate from Romania.

We aren't jealous, we don't have the reason to be. We don't take anything with us in the grave.

I got an invitation from a very good friend of mine to spend the August 2010 in Hannover and go to Wacken Open Air and M'era Luna festivals. Maybe then we'll meet to drink a beer together.

There also isn't any reason to be jealous at

- sky high taxes
- fuel priced like liquid gold
- unaffordable house prices

etc etc..

Btw. Romania isn't poor. It's true that they earn less money then in Western Europe, but with the same amount of money, they can do the same things as we around here. Living is cheaper there. For example, if you screw down the value from the €Euro.. so that the Romanian currency costs €100 per Lei..

But everything costs the same in the shop, you still earn as much money as before as paramedic.. fuel prices stay the same.
You'll still live normally, but the Romanians will say that you are poor. We make a lot of money here.. but pay alot of taxes, food costs a LOT etc..

The only reason that (mostly young) eastern people come here is to make a lot of money here (in their eyes) and spend it there. Because you can buy more with that money then you can around here.

Guys...the same happens here with the mexicans and other "illegal aliens" as they call them, of hispanic origin.
They call them plenty of names and sometimes they blame them for the spike in crimes and other things.... Usually in any country they like to find scapegoats to pin the problems on them rather than look at themselves as a society....
The same thing happened in the US when the first inmigrants started arriving in Ellis Island in NY.Those europeans were vblamed for all the bad things that happened in the late 1800's early 20th century. Remember that back in 1939, they blamed all of Germany's problems to the jews and we saw what happened.In Africa minorities have been masacred in Rwanda,because they were considered the "root" of many problems and inferiors....

Imagine if everybody in the world were the same?????? Everything would be ...BORING!!!!!!!
