when you're a young kid all the scary movies are *really* scary, you can even be frightened by the cookie monster in Sesame Street
I was also about 5 (so in the early 70's) when I saw my first horror movie. My parents were delayed at work and the baby sitter wasn't there. That was a story with a cactus man or something like that. I had some nightmares for years
and the rise of dystopian films; these days are filled with concern and political interest in the integrity of the Stock Market. Dystopia has been a dominating force in film as dramatized in the Hunger Games multi-sequel films. It is reminiscent of the dystopian film, They Live.
