Bypah, I think Bacardi is much better. Have a deeper flavor and I like more. Habana Club have some kind of "flat" taste. When this stupid postal ban will be lifted, I'll send you a bottle to taste it.

I'm considering ordering some real Cubans from Switzerland. Does anyone know what the punishment for getting caught importing Cuban cigars is?Bypah wrote:The Cohibas found here in the U.S . are counterfeit ones made by the exile in Miami. They are not the real deal since any cuban product is considered ilegal thanks of years of a stupid embargo....

I usually get my handmade cigars from Puerto Rico which we produce them in a small scale but they are as good or better than the cubans.Any cigar coming from the Caribbean is good since the cigar making traditions are alive an well there.
Check these sites....![]()

Re: Any cigar smokers out there?
They'll just confiscate them, and send you a 'nasty-gram' with threats...
Thats if the seller will even send them, which a company won't.
A private citizen overseas may, but they'll have to lie on the customs forms...
I've smoked a few cubans, they're good, but not worth getting you or someone else in trouble.

The most common "penalty" for bringing Cuban cigars into the US is confiscation by US Customs.
I have heard of individuals being jailed and prosecuted for trafficking in Cuban cigars (bringing large quantities into the US and reselling them). So is no speculation...
If you try to bring them here you have a 50/50 chance of having cigars confiscated by Customs when you re-enter the US.
Some people buy them in the Dominican Republic and they change the little seals to look like they where made in the D.R. but if they catch you as I said you will get them confiscated and some prison time.

I guess if I really want one I'll buy a few from Switzerland and mix them with some from the Dominican Republic and other countries. Who knows what might happen, but I really want to try them. At least I won't be arrested.Bypah wrote:The most common "penalty" for bringing Cuban cigars into the US is confiscation by US Customs.

Re: Any cigar smokers out there?
I'm an Arturo Fuente fan. I read an article once that had a quote along the lines of, "There are some great Cuban cigars, and some not so great Cubans. With Arturo Fuente you are getting a good cigar, guaranteed, everytime."
My personal favorites are the Arturo Fuente Hemmingway Short Stories. I have a couple Hemmingway Between the Lines (barbershop pole style, with two different wrapper leafs) that I am saving for a special occassion. For a REALLY special occassion I have a Cohiba Singlo VI (Cuban) that has been aging in my humidor for 4 years.
On the occassion I have a cigar (which is quite rare) I pair it with A De Fussigny Cognac Cigar Blend. I'm still on the same bottle from 2006 to give you an idea how rarely I get to enjoy a cigar and nice drink.
