In a suburban environment, it would be best to wear solid, earth-toned colors like shades of browns/tans, greens, and grays. Outdoor clothing (like from REI, L.L. Bean, etc.) will not stick out as badly as military-like clothing (BDU's) if you have to "move among the masses", but that depends on your area...in some places BDU's don't get a second look...neither do "hunting patterned" camouflage (like Mossy Oak).
For instance, a pair of khaki pants and a dark green shirt would not stick out in a crowd, but would also allow you to disappear if you stepped off into some bushes.
Best camo for the suburbs?
