Plus, he's eating everything COLD! Hello? Moron, that's why they come with heaters. If you ate Wolfgang Puck's clam chowder cold right out of the can, I can guarantee you it will taste like crap. Whatever though, like everyone said, he's just there for shock value...but I'm sure it doesn't make folks at home who really don't know about MREs pretty confused as to why the Govt would feed this to the troops. Rest assured folks, MREs are not the scourge of the dining world, and some of us, particularly those on this forum, actually think they taste pretty damn good!

And I'm sure he didn't think it was all that bad, you don't get as fat as Andrew Zimmern by skipping any meals. Chalk it up to bad TV.

It's a simple thing on TV.. Shock & Awe is simply more popular then saying "Wow, this tastes quite good actually"

Most military rations taste better then microwave food imho..
Offcourse, nothing beats real fresh cooked foods, but for canned food, military rations are probably the best..

Simply because of the high demands, and costs of rations..
A ration costs a LOT more then a microwave meal.. (might be due to packaging)
Sure, someone may one day kill me with my own gun.
But they'll have to beat me to death with it because it's empty.

A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.

In a survival situation an MRE or better yet the HDR's  taste good!!!!!
Yes he is a ass when he ate them cold, but MRE's are designed to be eaten either hot( the best way...) or cold. I usually eat them cold and it tastes the same to me....GREAT!!!
Also...who are those guys rigged like paintballers???? Real military ,ex now contractors or wannabes???

By the way they were heating the pouches directly in a fire pit using indirect heat....hmmmmm!!
Why not use the FRH's??? Just to say that the SEALS do it and add it to their lore???

Peace!
