Re: Food In Space
Neat article. I'm sure lots of us are interested in the food for the space program. I know I'd sure like to get my hands on some of that stuff (and not the "astronaut ice cream" or "food sticks" commercial products, I mean the real deal like in this article).

Aw, c'mon Ruleryak! Don't you miss those Pillsbury space food sticks?
Actually how many here in forums are old enough to remember them besides me? They were a hit back when cell phones were on Star Trek and AT&T had underground AUTOVON Switching Centers all over the countryside.

Cool pics Bobby! Now I'm trying to recall what the original Pillsbury packaging looked like, although it is certainly possible that I'm remembering wrong and those are the originals.

You're remembering it right, don't worry!
They were definitely before my time (I'm 30), but I'd probably try one if I happened to find em. Like the new generation, these were basically energy bars. The Pillsbury ones were the first commercial energy bar like we're used to today so in a way they're the father of modern energy bars

Re: Food In Space
Guess what I found today:
Apollo Astronauts Space Food NASA Moon Program Original
I've uploaded the images from this auction here so we can still see them after the auction is long gone:
It looks like the Tang has seen better days, but the powdered creamed corn and cheese cracker cube look just fine. It's a shame the seller doesn't have more information posted, but that doesn't seem to be stopping the bidding! I've been keeping an eye out for something like this for a very long time and this is the first I'm seeing actual NASA packed space food. I wonder if this has actually been to space.
