I was on duty at the (former German Luftwaffe) 1936 opened Airfield.
One main attraction was a German WW2 Junkers Ju 52, called "Aunt JU"

Way cool pics, guys! I've seen pics of some with red crosses painted on them for medivac. Actually an uncle of mine who served in Europe during WW2 as a medical NCO "met up" with some German medics after he was wounded and they took very good care of him but alas he did not get to fly in one of the medical planes although he did see it up close. FWIW, after the war he kept in touch with them for many years and even spent a Christmas with one of them and his family. Not sure how the units were organized but it may have been German version of our Korean war MASH units, only a few years early.
