I can testify that is a very good training on "chemicals" here. You got a very hard training on a gas masks and "graduation" is a "tent session". That's meaning you enter in a canvas tent with gas mask on face and the instructor NCO broke a vial with an "unknown" substance inside. If you screw up someway your mask, first is a very unpleasant sensation and after recovery is a very unpleasant period (you got punishment). After communist breakdown, in Romania was used only strong lachrimatory agents. But was enough.

Hi, we had the same thing in France but we were locked in a blockaus (the "gas chamber") and for more fun the instructors used to steal some of our filters and turn the light off... 8)

Yep, same here!
They made you stand in a very hot room, until everybody is sweating inside the masks, then tell you to take them off...
CS sure stings!
And they said it wasn't full strength !
I'm just glad they didn't have the 'Puke' gas then... Cause they'd have used it !
PS, And Gas Masks work very well !
