From North Wales to south Wales it is about 180 miles – about 4 hours 46 mins (google maps) Wales is quite a small country. (We are the one attached to the left side of England)

From the furthest point south in Britain to the most northern mainland point (Lands End to John of Groats) is 837 miles – about 14 hours 55 mins (according to Google Maps)

I lived with 2 Americans last year at my old dorm (Student living accomodation), the girl was like 'She doesnt like that far about 3 hours drive'... If i drove for 3 hours I would be three quaters the way thorugh Wales. To her thats down the road.

ROFLMAO!!!!!!they are chicken eggs, not tiny but large ones and no no ostrich eggs....

The problem is that here everything is either chemically fed or genetically altered and massed produced. If I'm not mistaken in Germany they are going back the the traditional ways of farming to a certain extent by decree of chancellor Merkell, right???

Peace!

I saw lots of 'Bio Bio' products and organic (free of pesticides) when I saw there.
Britian had this organic rush a few years ago, its still here but not as prominant.

We buy our stuff (eggs, vegetable, salads, beef) straight from the farmers yards "barn store"

But you are right "Bio" is very popular over here.
This non bio eggs have a horrible strange "fish" taste as the chicken got fish flour as "food"... yech

Genetic manipulated is a no-go over here! Nobody will buy any product!
We have a scientic farm next to here. They plant such potatoes, sugar beets etc. Try to make more resistant plants.
Lot´s of troubles there. Many public protest and demonstrations against.

When you ever had a tasteless dutch watertomato, you will love farmers stuff :D

Bio or "organic" as they call it is also available here too.
The problem is they don't care about the health of the people, they only think $$$$$$ and how much they can make of it....
Specially if they can mass produce it,sell it cheap and people will but it.... well haven't you read about the peanut butter scare???? That plant bought themselves out of FDA (US Dept. of Agriculture)audits plenty of times. How??? pay outs and every time a lab sample came positive with salmonella they kept changing labs until they got a favorable result.... All of this is approved by the FDA!!!!!incredible no????
I wish we have more controls like Europa when it comes to goverment intervention in some areas.....but that's capitalism

I like to buy from farmer's markets is good for local economy and the produce is fresh. Also I love to plant but I live in a apartment complex that's not allowed.... :(
Peace!

We had a scare a while back with some bad meat we purchased on two separate occasions from a national chain. Since then we purchase all of our meat from a local butcher shop. Its a little more pricey but its excellent quality. They actually buy their livestock from local farmers and butcher it themselves.

Surprisingly the local farmers market doesn't have much variety. We will however buy from local small farmers that sell by the roadside.

Citrus is easy to come by for free. Everyone has the trees in their yards. I try to juice and freeze what I can for the off season. This usually saves a lot.

As far as US gum goes, I like 'Big Red' and I sometimes buy a pack from an import store here in Melbourne. I seem to remember a 'Trident' lemon-mint flavour that was really good, but I've never seen it on sale here.

My all-time favourite is 'Extra' apple flavour, but they appear to be phasing it out here in Australia. :( Time to start hoarding.
