Beverage base power + carbonated water?

After seeing some comments about some drinks almost tending to have a bit of a carbonated feel to them after mixing with water...
Did anybody try mixing one of these isotonic beverage base powders with carbonated water?
Maybe it's awful, or maybe it's the next big thing! Well.. Probably not, but just wondering.
Carbonated water is likely not the easiest thing to get a hold of in the field, but I'm at home :D

I would try it. But maybe you'll have to be the one to take the plunge and go first anyway

I have tried few times (long time ago) and never liked the result, my vote goes to awful.

I can imagine it would taste kind of weird.
I think the water should only be ever so slightly carbonated, not like coca cola or very bubbly water, more like a weissbier or ale maybe?
But yeah, I guess I can settle with your previous experience. Seems reasonable :)

I was thinking of trying that with the British cola drink mix. I even picked up some club soda at the store, I just haven't tried it yet. I'll let you know how it goes. :)

By the time you shake or stir the mix long enough to dissolve that awful paste in US rations, you'd have UNcarbonated water.

Definitely. I think when I try it with the UK cola beverage powder I will first mix it with just enough water to make a syrup, that way it hopefully dissolves into the carbonated water without having to stir it so much that it goes flat. We shall see!

I used in some reviews carbonated/mineral water to mix the drinks. I don't remember which review it was
The result is ok, quite pleasant

Today I tried it with a carbohydrate electrolyte beverage powder grape (my least favourite powder as it happens) it was not pleasant but I was thirsty so I drank it
