I don't recall having issues with either the MCIs or the MREs when they were issued to us, 2 canteens are issued for a reason 
except that food poisoning I got from the MRE turkey diced w/gravy. This should probably have been posted in off-topic, my apologies.

I took it off Reddit; it’s not mine but with the way the internet is, I can’t imagine anyone would complain.
