Newest type of EPA

Post by Demolition_Man » Wed Feb 06, 2019 5:58 am

That's a major change. Different manufacturer, bags, self-heating, cutlery, shelf life of 2 years. Good bye old box? Reminds me alot of the UN type rations.

I "borrowed" the photos from ebay kleinanzeigen (German craigs list run by ebay). Here are the links to it. I only saw them yesterday for the very first time.

https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anz ... 4-230-6813

https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anz ... 9-230-7983

The links can expire as soon as the listing is deleted, that's why I saved the photos and attached them here. Content-wise it only says:
1,9 kg
2 main meals
Instant coffee, tea, drinks
Crackers salty and sweet
Chocolate, fruit cocktail
tissues

The manufacturer is "Economat des Armees" in France. https://www.economat-armees.com/

Economat des Armees is the same company that used to package the older-style boxed UN rations. There is certainly a UN ration vibe about those pouches.

I think the Bright colored Flag on the front is very very odd, not very good camouflage wise

Its not that big.

We have the Union flag on our British ORPs. Once we get our packs, we break it down then fold it and distribute our rations round our webbings set.

The German pack can be folded or turned round so the flag is down.

Source: 17 years mil experience.

I would imagine the new German pack I has a FRH element looking at the pack itself.
