As the question says.
Which MRE has the best contents ?

Some have said French RCIR, others British ORP etc

What's your views ?

I don't think of it in terms of value. I'd eat saltines and dollar store tuna if that were the case for MREs. I like different cuisines and drive a certain car and wear a certain watch for my enjoyment and aesthetic sense. I've paid $30 -60 for a French RCIR. Currently have 16 RCIRs and many individual entrees and components left over from others. Have quite a few dripping faucet expenses, gym, Netflix, etc and this hobby is the best value by far no matter what it costs.

Perhaps I should have rephrased that as having the best contents rather than value as that's probably subjective.

Thread title amended.

it would be no surprise to me when I say RCIR....I'm a big fan of the pate, energy bars, occasional fruit Musili , and occasional milky dessert...the mains are also always top notch imo

I personally think the polish ones... If you like a good strong stew they are the rations to go to... Crackers are amazing, top quality freeze dried fruit, sweet and tart, and many more things... I think they are really underrated

My experience is pretty limited, as I am new to the hobby. I've tried 5 or so US MREs, 2 RCIRs and some random French and British components. So far I'm a big fan of most components of the RCIR. The mains are always surprisingly delicious, the pates are great (I wish this was more popular in the US), and I find myself craving the biscuits. The only thing I don't love about the RCIR is the isotonic beverage and nougat bar.

Next I really want to try some Spanish and German items.

I've got to admit, as much as I love RCIR's, the isotonic beverage and nougat definitely are the low points of that ration, that being said the beverage serves it's purpose...it rehydrates and has a lot of electrolytes in it (built for performance over taste)....just wish they could do something with that nougat because they are decently good if fresh, but they get that paint smell in older rations it seems.
