DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THERE ARE DIFFERENT GERMAN ARMY COMBAT RATIONS FOR GERMAN ARMY PARATROOPERS VERSUS REGULAR GERMAN ARMY UNITS (e.g., TYPES I, II OR III)?
I have a work colleague in Toronto that used to be an officer in the German Army as a paratrooper. I am traveling to Toronto in two weeks and will have lunch with him. I thought about buying two German Army Combat Rations (e.g. Type I, II, III) for a "surprise" meal together. However, it occurred to me there may be different German Combat Rations for paratroopers (e.g., similar to slimmed down Long-Range Patrol (LRP) MREs or dehydrated MCW rations) and the German Army Combat Ration Types I, II or III that I have seen on YouTube (e.g., Steve1989MREInfo, Kiwi Dude, gundog4314). Any feedback is much appreciated, especially where I might purchase these specialized MREs, if they exist.

Re: German Paratrooper vs. German Army Combat Ration Types I-III
The current German EPAs come in 9 types, type 1-5 is regular "wet" entrees, so its abit over 2kg
The types 6-9 are with FD entrees (they weigh around 1.5kg)
There is no "Special forces ration" or anything like that in the german army
All forces use the Regular EPA the only difference being that special units like paratroopers, recon units and so on get mostly the FD variant.

Thanks, much appreciated. Have you seen any online sellers that tend to have a good selection at reasonable prices?
