I had great fun with my ration, it was (generally) delicious, but I have to highlight the sesame seed bars as being AWFUL. Really, truly terrible.
For one, i'm pretty sure they're hard to the point of being bulletproof. They're like rocks.
Another problem is that you get 3, but for the life of me I couldn't separate them. It was like trying to pry apart welded steel.
I snapped off the end of one of them and took a bite, and it was... Deeply unpleasant. It tasted awful, and despite being rock solid, it also managed to get stuck in my teeth.
Every other bit of the ration was at least decent, and much of it was great, but those sesame bars will haunt me for a long time.

I actually think these taste pretty good! Well, the taste is fine BUT your absolutely correct in that these 3 bars are impossible to separate and they are as hard as a rock. I for one think we should name these "Gorilla Bars" in tribute to the old school MRE gorilla cookies.

Maybe mine are off or something. They smell and taste pretty damn bad. Incidentally, the easiest way i've found to separate them is to jam a screwdriver between them. In the same ration I had some chocolate biscuits, which were hella tasty.

Yeah the sesame bars are something that I'm always disappointed to find in an ORP. If it was just Biscuit Fruits and Squidge I'd be happy. Haha

The sesame bars are awful, i just cant get it why they even came up with it.
The way i deal with them is breaking a piece off and softening it with my saliva, like a lollipop.
Then i can just chew on the remaining sesame seeds and have sesame skins stuck in my teeth for 3 hours straight.

I guess they maybe an acquired taste, I like them. The local asian markets sell similar bars, they are bite size though.

Broke my top left 6 year molar from a ORP sesame seed bar last year - was eating one in an airport waiting for my flight. Finally getting it fixed this month for $1,334.

The Travellunch sesame bars are actually really good, but I agree not the ones in the ORPs.

Currently eating a bar for the first time from a February of 2017 ORP, and finding it to be pretty darn good! It's way too brittle to tear the three apart, but definitely not hard. They're about as crunchy as a dried out cookie. Perhaps they just don't age all that well?
