"Lite" versions of German EPA rations?

Post by alcockell » Thu Apr 12, 2018 5:43 am

Hi folks,

Some EPA ratpacks on the market seem to be a lighter version of the older EPAs - in the way that Britpacks have been downsized to something more like 3000Kcal as opposed to 4100KCal..

EG - these. https://www.surplusandoutdoors.com/shop ... 87979.html

And equiv on another commercial site - https://www.feddeck-dauerwaren.de/shop/ ... anguage=en

They seem to be the equivalent of BTBT Day packs...

Has anyone tried out one of these? Is the German ration supply becoming more modular?

Those are not genuine Epas, they are packed by a civilian shop with civilian items.
The shop is the feddeck-dauerwaren website that you linked.

The only epa versions that are currently in production are regular wet meals (type 1-6) and FD types (type 7-9)

So similar to evaq8's Day ratpacks... a civilian version of the MOD pack...

Eistee is right, these are commercial made ones made from off the shelf items, hold half of an regular EPa (just one entree).
