I do love the taste of the IRP. However, judging by the greasiness of the contents in the IRP, they seem to be major artery blockers. What do you guys think?

Meh. Different climate, different nutritional needs. All that red meat and fat works as an insulator, as well as a source of energy. The rations that load up on sugar rely on a constant intake of yet more sugar, resulting in either an alert soldier, or one going through withdrawal.

It’s why I only used to let my kids pig out on candy one day a year- Halloween.

I thought that nutritional needs might likely take a back seat to cost.

This is true. I call for at least 8 oz of vodka in every Russian IRP!
