Hey guys, I just tried my first Canadian IMP and it certainly won't be my last! I wish the US rations would get with that hamburger bun that comes in the IMPs, it's way better than the wheat snack bread in my opinion. Check out my review and let me know what you think!

And that Hamburger Bun isn't half as good as the simple rectangular piece of bread that would come in the earlier IMP'smickeyjoe wrote:Hey guys, I just tried my first Canadian IMP and it certainly won't be my last! In the immortal words of President Harrison Ford, Air Force One: Peace is not the absence of war... it is the presence of justice.

Yeah, but that weak MRE snack bread can double as makeshift armor plating in a pinch.mickeyjoe wrote:Hey guys, I just tried my first Canadian IMP and it certainly won't be my last! Jeez if you think the snack bread would make good body armor, I bet you could armor a tank with the crackers from the Lithuanian ration I ate recently (). They we're legitimately the worst component of any ration I've had so far. I hated the sardines I had in my French RCIR but they were fine as far as product standards go, I just didn't like em. The Lithuanian crackers upset me on a personal level, ya know?

Stay away from Polish rations then: same brand & type, just 6x more.mickeyjoe wrote:Jeez if you think the snack bread would make good body armor, I bet you could armor a tank with the crackers from the Lithuanian ration I ate recently (). Always loved the IMP bread. Many years ago, I bought a few cases of IMP's from 96, and tried one a couple years ago...it was still good, although not quite as good as they were 'fresh' but not much difference.BTemple wrote:And that Hamburger Bun isn't half as good as the simple rectangular piece of bread that would come in the earlier IMP'smickeyjoe wrote:Hey guys, I just tried my first Canadian IMP and it certainly won't be my last! Re: Canadian IMPs
There was an American shelf stable sandwich bread or small loaf bread issued for a while, I saw it one time in the field, at a mobile mess. They had a big box filled with them to pick up as we went through the line. It was packaged in that standard brown accessory pack material, and about the same size, in fact at first I thought that's what it was. Bread!?? Really? It was pretty decent, sort of like those cute little loaves they sell at the county fair. I thought it was going to be the next thing and then .. never saw it again. Ever. Weird. When I later saw the "Wheat Snack Bread" in an MRE I figured that was it. Finally! Boy, was I pissed off. Blech, couldn't believe they subbed out saltines for that ... thing.
