Dutch 24 hour ration from 2016

Hey there. I've got a Dutch 24 hour ration with an expiration date of may 2016. I'm just looking for some advice with it. One of the main meal pouches seems to be a bit more full of air than the other and I'm not sure how well the pate had held up.
Anyone know if this stuff will be safe to try or should I just leave it and go for the less perishable items?
Thanks in advance.

Could you send pictures of the main and pate?
Dont think that it has gone bad yet, after only 2 years, unless it stood out in the desert sun for the last 2 years

I'll get a couple pictures up in a couple hours, currently out and about. I've not been storing it in optimal conditions, I've not got a basement or anything that's always cool. Got my rations sitting next to the window with a fan constantly running in an attempt to keep them cool, but you know what houses are like. I'm probably going to invest in a shed or something in future.

Couple more of the pouches. Sorry for the spam.

The Pate's look normal for me, they dont appear to be bloated, its normal that they are filled to the brim and beyond.
The Mains also look pretty normal to me, but to be sure you should smell them first before tasting, if they smell off (sour or rancid), you should be careful with it.
The Mains are always very loosely packed in the dutch rations, abit of air in them is normal.

Ah, nice. Thank you so much for reassuring me. I'll be careful when I check them out, but I'll definitely be doing it now. Thanks again!

Always trust your nose and your taste buds
If something seems off to you, chances are it is.

Hi, they shouldn't bloat, but in rare cases it occurs. Could be nothing, from my personal experience, but could be off too. As mentioned in the previous post: trust your nose!
Sure worth the try
Kind regards
