Hi guys,

being new to this ration hobby, I bought 2 french RCIR rations (menu 9 and 12) with BBD 2. feb 2017 and 30. dec 2016. I never had this rations, will get them in a few days and therefore I want to ask you, if I should be worried about some componets due BBD?

Thanks

btw. I think it was a bargain, 8 € each :)

They are close to the BBDs, so all items should be fine. You got a good deal at 8€ each!

Yeah that was a smokin deal. The only thing I can think of would be to sniff the dairy/cheese items but there may not be any in those depending on menu.

I would be far more concerned about something like the condensed milk tubes from the Russian rations.

Oh man, it looks like they last a pretty long time. My should be therefore like fresh packed right from the producer :) Hopefully.

Housil, were the crackers bad? I have had these after one year of BBD and the crackers were always bad..

To be honest, I don´t like the French crackers anyways so I didn´t eat them. They have an odd "soapy" taste to me

Housil, you might want to try VERY fresh crackers from the RCIR if possible, they are actually very pleasing tasting (especially with the cheese) when fairly new and not heat stressed! I also feel victim to the "weird" tasting RCIR crackers because I let my rations sit too long. I have found both the chocolate ones and the regular ones, as well as the other kind are EXTREMELY susceptible to heat stress and or aging.

Got RCIRs. Sweet biscuits taste good, the salty ones are suspicious and really salty for me, will skip them.
