Jam musings...

So as i sit here chowing down on my beef macaroni w/ tomato sauce, drinking my coffee and cup-a-soup it occurs to me... At this moment at least one of our lads in Afghanistan is probably eating this exact same meal...
And he is likely pondering, as i am, why the Canadian military gave us each two packets of raspberry jam, and not any bread on which to spread it...
*toasts the Canadian government with cup-a-soup*

That's exactly what i was expecting to get... the Canadian bread isn't too bad as far as thermostabilized bread goes, definiely better if you heat it up.
But no bread to be seen...

To be completely honest i'm not sure the exact story behind the name... i've been using it as a screen name in various places online since i was in high school... Its origins may have had something to do with the Rammstein song of the same name, and the fact that i was aspiring to learn German at the time. I still intend to one of these days, but work and volunteering take their toll on my free time...
I even find myself running short on time to enjoy MRE's occasionally

But i did have a hearty helping of Meatloaf w/ onions & gravy and mashed potatoes while i was out snowmobiling last weekend, man is it nice to stop for a hot meal amidst cruising around at 40mph in -15 degree weather!
