I am researching North Korean rations in Google when I found the humorous North Korean rations in Youtube. I laughed at the contents, then I realized that it was in Korean sites that I should look, and used GoogleTranslate. This is what I found:

It proves that North Korea do have field rations, though probably not common.

Wow those are really small, like a bag of potato chips. I wonder how many calories they pack in to these?

North Korea tends to fake much of their local productions. For example, they always show off markets in their propaganda showing stocked shelves with food or tables of fine bread from bakeries much of of the stores are either faked for propaganda or for the upper class elite. Since North Korea has had failed Harvest since the end of the cold war, much of their population has starved and they rely of food aid from the UN and from countries such as South Korea, china, and the US. And if they don't get their food, they wold often threaten to reign fire upon Seoul or nuke Washington D.C. or something of that sort.
I wouldn't doubt if their troops have some sort of ration or something similar, but it's probably not too likely due to bad harvest and that most of their military is stationed not too far from populated areas.
