I managed to get in touch with an old friend for some to date 24hr rations and he came through! While i was picking them up he offered me a box of 12hr rations.... i was intrigued and asked more and he told me they calling them single meal rations and they come with an FRH..... YES PLEASE!!

So i managed to get a box of 5.... very excited to dive in and review. Keep an eye out and will get a link in the review section from my youtube channel asap. (These may be old news to some but i have never seen them and had no idea the UK forces were using an FRH)

These are the exact same thing as the Norwegian tropical ration. The Norwegian army buys them from UK

I've heard of the 12 hour rations but I don't know why they would be put into service. Wouldn't a 24 ration suffice? unless you were in a combat scenario I don't see a reason to make these for troops. However I think 12 hour rations are on the civilian market.

Maybe these are meant for smaller missions or perhaps to save space and reduce weight?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but US army as I know does not even have the 24hr ones?
