Dutch zoute drops?

Hello,
I've just received a lot of rations including Dutch MREs with candies.
Did anyone try the green packet labeled "Zoute drop" yet?

As its name indicates, it contains drops, in fact salted licorice drops!!! (salt is what "zoute" stands for, obviously)

I guess the Dutch must like them as it seems to be a commercial make and people certainly pay for that kind of candies

So, did anybody else had a try?

no, i didnt had that one yet, cause it looks like that all whats inside are candies and accesory stuff.... and ppl do their bids on it like its a full ration, so i dont had one yet....

Right, the ration itself is in fact only an accessory pack.
The main entree is supplied separately either as an English style soft pack or a French flat tin. BTW, I've got a full box of Dutch "Turkey with potatoes and vegetables" tins and they are labeled "Made in France", LOL

oh yeah, i have seen those before, its only the main meals, right??
i got a full box of french rations <pork stew with potatoes in white sauce>

with the french cheese "MADE IN AUSTRIA" -- haha

Yes, I've seen that cheese. A few years ago the cheese in the French ration was always made by "La Vache Grosjean" in France.

It seems that even the gums are now made by Stimorol in Denmark.

Anyway the salted Dutch drops are made in Netherlands by "Klenes" in Breda.
The label says "Klenes, since 1875"; after 131 years, they certainly got accustomed this strange flavour

(no offence intended for the Dutch members)

in our mouths too

I guess few Gemans would drive 200 miles for a full plate of snails and most of the French I know think knoedels taste like plaster.
Personnaly I like almost everything (including knoedel & snails) ...as long as it doesn't contain liver or kidneys

It's funny to see the number of "exotic" meals in the occidental rations :curries, beef Terriyaki, Chow Mein, Thai chicken, sweet & sour pork...
