Here's what you all will get with a new style Dutch 24 Hour Ration. From talking with a few Dutch soldiers the main reason for placing these in plastic instead of the box was directly from soldier feedback not to mention time savings of field stripping a box of stuff and the amount of additional space saved transporting these to a war fighter.
The top 2 pics are (of course) the contents list and on the back some helpful instructions to not screw stuff up like I usually do in my vids haha.
The next set of pics is everything in the ration, except the 400g can main and the accessory packet. The last 2 pics are the accessory packet.
I'll be posting the review to YT next Wednesday of Thursday. I can tell you all I really enjoyed this one and the mains are pretty tasty indeed. Just a note for the mains, the retort pouches are made by the Vesty Foods in the UK. The can in my review was produced by Kingsfood and the can in this pictorial in produced in France by Bocage Restauration.
Here's the vid link. Enjoy!

Most awesome! I think the Dutch (I am one and bleed orange) are like the Germans and try to make the longest words ever possible at times. Looking forward to seeing this one on the youtube Gundog, I have a few cousins I am going to contact about maybe getting one sent my way, with translation of course, I emigrated to Canada when I was under 2 years old.

If I remember correctly, the Dutch have a bunch of curry type main meal menu's that go into these and personally I think those are by far the best!

Beautiful presentation, gundog. That Dutch Ration is my personal favorite of the internationals.
Cool, you got two different versions of the entrees too - will give everyone a good sense of what both kinds are like.
Love their chocolate, dextrose tabs, cocoa, coffee, pate's, and that lemon drink.. gosh that stuff has a real ting from what I remember last one I had in 2013.
I will be doing a review on one shortly as well - sounds like yours worked out!
ps - that chili sauce is probably on our scale 2 outta 10 hot, right gundog? Still tasted nice! Not enough of it!
Very much looking forward to your Dutch experience - I think its really great you got such insight from the Dutch soldiers too. Those are important details for a review - details I would have missed!
Thanks so much for sharing this here!

That chili sauce stuff scored about a -2 out the 0-10 scale maybe it was just for flavor as opposed to heat. The sauces on the mains really drowned it out so it really didn't add any value in my opinion. You have the drinks spot on LOL!

Re the hot sauce. Sambal can be vary varied... I have a small jar at home and its a solid 5-6 out of 10 for pure heat without a lot of flavour change. Tabasco is a similar item for me while the sauces like Frank's red hot and such can add some heat but mostly make flavour changes. Here is a couple shots of my fridge collection and one of a group of hot sauces I took for another forum a few years ago when I had a fairly broad collection. In my ration meals and when I pack my own camp or hike food I prefer to have a few packets of chili flakes that I can add to my liking on a dish.
