Erbswurst help!

Post by rationtin440 » Mon Apr 02, 2012 9:19 pm

I found Erbswurst pea soup on the German rations page at http://www.reprorations.com and I'm curious about a couple things: first of all is it still a part of Bundeswehr rations in it's pellet-in-a-tube form or was that WW2, and secondly, is there any place here in America that sells it? I absolutely love pea soup and the description on the website sounded really good. Thanks for any help!

I couldn't find it in the US a few years ago when I was looking for it so I just ordered some off of ebay.de. I have some EPAs and it's not in them, but who knows what's changed in the last few years. It's good stuff though, worth buying even if you have to get it shipped from Germany, but the expiration date isn't really very long, or at least the date on the package, I have no idea how long it really lasts.

Erbswurst was invended 1867 by a Berlin cook and he sold his recipe to the Prussian State in 1870 so they intended it as very first Military ration to their troops.
Today it isn´t any Bundeswehr ration anymore, just a civilian instant food

Yeah, it's fun, but it's not really worth getting it shipped. The guy I bought it from sent me a bunch of gummy candies in the box though, that was cool. :) Maybe try splitting a larger order?
