Post by nicodim » Sun Mar 04, 2012 8:28 am

Hi.
I received a parcel from the ak70g2 with chines rations.

The first day was opened by one of the rations. I tasted it at work.
Very unusual food. Very strange bread. It feels that chew bricks.
In the beef roulade is not a single gram of beef.

That: 3. говяжий рулет Beef roulade with egg , looks like a cinnamon roll.

Were there any accessories in the pack? (chop sticks, spices, things like that)

I'm pretty sure those compressed cracker bars are supposed to be a large part of the meal. They're pretty similar to a lifeboat ration in some ways, so likely very calorie dense while not being particularly filling.

Cool pics and good info thanks guys! I'm curious if anyone has come across any more info about the "anti-radiation" rations that the Chinese claim to have. I'm not sure what would be in them besides potassium iodate, because once radiation symptoms begin to appear (hacking cough, scratchy throat, headache, proceeding to gastro-intestinal bleeding, etc.), there is not much that can be done for a case of radiation sickness and potassium iodate only protects the thyroid, so sounds like this ration would be more of a placebo. Unless the chinese are studying the Israeli's CLB-585 stuff.

The following ingredients are contained in anti-radiation ration.
  • Wolfberry Polysaccharide
  • Selenium Lingzhi Mushroom Polysaccharide
  • Spirulina Polysaccharide
  • Ginsenoside
It has functions, detoxification, immune system strengthening, and an anti-radiation trauma.

Thanks for the reply laughing_man! During the cold war there were many theories about the treatment of radiation sickness, and many military leaders seemed to prefer to concentrate on shielding instead. Do you know if these anti-radiation rations are intended only for soldiers who will be operating in contaminated areas or are the rations for feeding to soldiers who are already sick? Actually the second one might not be practical depending on what stage of radiation sickness the soldier has.

I do not know about the use.
However, it is important that that ration is not medicine but food.
I investigated the ingredient in preparation for import.
As for it, by a law of Japan, a doctor's prescription is unnecessary.
I do not think that it is made for a sick person.
I expect that it is provided in activity in the area where radioactive contamination is expected.
However, not a tablet but it cannot understand to me why it is cookie :)
