Does anyone know what type of rations the British and Australian forces were issued with during the Vietnam war? My uncle recalls only seeing American type MCIs issued to the units he was near.

I have seen photos though I can't recall where, of Aussie and Kiwi forces consuming both MCI's and their own combat rations which resembled the 24-hour ration issued until recently containing tinned components.

Thanks for replies folks! I'm always fascinated by the history of rations, from the iron rations of WW1 to the fallout shelter crackers of the 1950s and 60s to today's stuff.

Hi guys, don't know if you have seen this site http://17thdivision.tripod.com/thepeace ... index.html
But if you haven't it's worth a look. I think it is a work in progress but has some good stuff on rations from the cold war
