Today I opened at work for lunch a 2007 "Bratwurst" of Bundeswehr Gruppenverpflegung (German UGR)
Each pouch contains ~2 lbs, 10 Bratwurst

They are made from half pork and half beef
As the Gruppenverpflegung have a shelf life of 18 month only...

...I was curious how they would look, smell and taste like
Usually Bratwurst have a "hull" made from the intestines and a

coarse-grained texture. These are very fine grinded.
Usually they are designed just to be heated up in hot water like a T-18 but Bratwurst is called "Bratwurst" because...

..you have to "braten" (= fry) them
Ei viola

Bratwurst w/ buttered bread
